Adult Makers: Chinese Calligraphy

Learn about the traditional art of Chinese calligraphy in this hands-on workshop with instructor Jojo Liu. Material kits containing simple calligraphy supplies will be available for pick-up for the first 30 program registrants during the week of April 26. Jojo is a calligraphy instructor whose work showcases a balance of traditional calligraphy with a modern flair. She was taught and inspired by her grandfather to practice calligraphy from a young age, and enjoys a love and passion for creative arts. Jojo is a current board member for the San Francisco Chinese Arts Association (舊金山中華藝術學會), and a member of the American Artist Association (美國藝術家協會).

Recommended materials: Chinese calligraphy brush; Black ink and dish; Practice paper (newsprint, printer paper, or sumi paper); Extra newsprint, felt, or craft mat to protect work surface

Suggested for Ages: 16+

How to Participate: This is a virtual activity presented online through Zoom. On the day of the program, log in using the Zoom link or the program code and password sent to all registered participants in the confirmation email.
